I feel like such a wuss today because here it is only 2 days on the road and I’m tired and got a bit stressed yesterday, so I’m taking the day off already!
Nothing really major and I got to Baton Rouge okay, but once I arrived at the campground and unhooked my car, it wouldn’t start – battery was completely dead. Thankfully, angels are still around me, and my new neighbor (who had helped me back into a rather small space) jump started the car. I was going to take off to get to my cousin’s house for as long a visit as possible, but work requests came in so I started on that.
It was so great to have family to go commiserate with and when I made it over to Cindy and Roger’s house, they had cold beer and a great grilled dinner waiting for me! We laughed and talked about Aunt Loretta stories, swapped tales on how we both still feel her presence in our lives sometimes – Cindy with hummingbirds and me with little birdie songs – so it was a great evening. But way too short because I had to get back to more work.
So I’m spending another day here to have more time with them, get the battery checked, and just chill out for a bit. It’s great to have family and flexibility on the road! And the road will still be there tomorrow!
