When
I was due for an oil change on the way to Charlottesville, RVing
buddies who had used them for years recommended Rogers as the place
to go.

It
was a pleasure to meet the hands-on owner, Tom Henderson. He told
me about all the RV services they offer, including engine and chassis
warranty work, as well as Onan generator service. With eight fulltime
techs and four large, full service bays with lifts to raise even
the heaviest RV, they can do it all for you right here, including
state inspections.

The
best evidence, though, was the line of motorhomes waiting for service.
Even though advertised primarily as a truck service, they really
know how to treat RVs and RVers here, too. Paper mats are placed
on the floor when they have to enter the interior to avoid greasy
footprints. I appreciated that and the comfy waiting room with TV
and free coffee. When work requires an overnighter, they have plenty
enough room to boondock on the premises and a big drive-through
in the back to get around the building with no problems even towing
a car.

A
great guy and fun to visit with, Mike Yelken is the service writer
behind the counter who handled the paperwork and kept me informed
about the progress of the work being done. You don't necessarily
need an appointment, but it's a good idea to call ahead to make
sure they have the parts you need.

Friendly
tech Mike Arrington did the service on my motorhome. He provided
a complete list of all items checked with the results and work completed.
While they do work on Onan generators, they didn't have the filter
I needed in stock, so I couldn't get that done this time.

Malia's
2 cents: It's
not always easy to find an oil change service with bays big
enough to get the motorhome into without removing the mirrors
to squeeze into, then having to hold my breath to get out
the door. It was also a relief to have someone highly recommended
by other RVers. I was so impressed myself that I'm thinking
of going back before I leave Charlottesville in October to
get other routine maintenance done by people I trust - important
for a solo woman with no techy knowledge of my own. If you
make a stop here, be sure to tell Tom, Mike and Mike that
Malia sends her regards!
