James
Island County Park is a 643 acre park and the only Charleston
County park with a campground. Featuring a water park, a climbing
wall, bike and boat rentals, scenic picnic areas and miles of hike
& bike trails, there is never a lack of fun stuff to do. There's
even an off-leash waterfront area for the doggies!

Lots
of flying and swimming creatures to enjoy. At the fishing pier,
I met Kelsey who was here from Illinois visiting her brother and
enjoying the crabbing. Some didn't meet the minimum size requirement,
so were tossed back, but they got a few to munch on that night.

The
Climbing Wall is a popular attraction for both kids and adults.
When I was there, this guy was performing routine maintenance making
sure all the bolts were tight and safe.

Malia's
2 cents: I
thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. After a dreary winter in one
place, this was the perfect spot to break free and start enjoying
nature again. There's so much to do just in the park (besides
nearby Charleston), you'll never get bored staying here, that's
for sure! |
