Things
to Do - Fishing info: Several species of bass including
largemouth and stripers, catfish, bream, crappie and yellow perch.
A valid South Carolina fishing license is required, which can
be obtained from the park's tackle shop.
Day
Use Fee: $2.00 (except registered campers). $1.25 for
SC Senior Citizens (65+) and disabled.
Shopping
- There's a small store on State Park Road called The Station
2, less than 2 miles from the park entrance. They have basic groceries,
fishing supplies, firewood, gasoline, diesel, and propane - also
prepared food fare such as pizza, hot dogs, pulled pork BBQ for
eat-in or take-out. I met the owner, Angela, and clerk, Vicki,
who were both very friendly and helpful. Phone: 803-364-2967;
Hours: Mon-Sat from 5:30 am - 8:00 pm and Sunday closes at 6:00
pm.
Bigger
selection of limited shopping and restaurants is in small town of
Chapin (11 miles). Columbia is closest larger town (30 miles) with
Wal-Mart, etc.
