My
visits to NC had been limited to a short trip on the Blue Ridge
Parkway and a tour of Biltmore Estate during my first year of fulltiming
in 2001. That was enough to convince me I wanted to see much more.

| So
in June, 2007, I started a northbound tour of the entire Blue Ridge
Parkway for the wildflower displays. My mom joined me for that portion
and we made sure we saw every foot of the Parkway - from Smoky Mountain
National Park in North Carolina to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.
Mom flew back home and I stayed in the Shenandoah area for a couple
of months, then started heading north in October for fall leaf peeping
times. I enjoyed so much of this beautiful state, and I'm sure there's
