I wanted to explore Hot
Springs itself from a close and convenient location so I'd have
more time for exploration of the historic area of town and the National
Park - really both one and the same. I chose J
& J RV Park because it's only 3.5 miles from
Bathhouse Row with real quick & convenient access via 70E.

This
is the rear of my site #14. I was told the creek was really down
and things were not as green due to the unusually dry weather they
are having, but I still enjoyed having the trickling water in my
backyard.

At
the end of the park is a little pond. The big RVs are in the front
row of pull-throughs - lots of room here. There's another row of
pull-throughs between the ones you're seeing and the RVs backing
up to the creek in sites 18 - 27.

I
enjoyed meeting Glen & Bonnie Emerson, who were here for the
Open Rally from Vivian, Louisiana. They said they've been coming
here for 4 years and one of the main things that keeps them coming
back is the friendliness of the owners. That's JJ (one of the owners)
in the red shirt and I confirmed he didn't pay them to say that!
But besides that, they also said they liked the layout of the park
- that it was easy to get in and out of as opposed to the KOA across
the street, which has tight sites and inconveniently placed trees.

I
enjoyed having my coffee down here in the mornings - a great way
to start the day!

This is a popular park for groups - they receive a discount of 10%
and have use of the 20x30' meeting room with full kitchen with this
patio area outside. The laundry, showers and restrooms are also
housed here. They've also built a nice mini-storage compound that
is available for guest use during extended stays.

Malia's
2 cents: One
of the things that convinced me this was the right choice
was my conversations with Janice, one of the owners, while
I was in the planning stages. She was always so friendly and
helpful answering my many questions. Jerrel
(JJ) & Janice built the park themselves in the summer
of 2000 and live onsite - you can really tell when owners
have a personal interest by the meticulous way the park is
maintained. Go by and tell them fine folks Malia says hi!
