| I
stayed here for three nights in May, 2005. The only loops open on
May 13 were the "B" loop for RV's, and the "D"
loop, for tenters only. "B" is close to the Lost Creek Reservoir,
with some sites having views of it from their rears. See the site
map for the layout of the loops. See their website
for other details because other RVers have told me in 2008 that now
all loops are open during the reservation season. |

Site
B-15. According to the site map, it is 38' long. That's the
lake in back. |
|
 |
Site
B-16. According to the map, it is 59' long. The trail to the
left leads to a nice walk along the lake. |
|
 |
Site
B-23. According to the map, it is 60' long. |
|
 |
This
was my home in B-27. It seemed even longer than what the map
said at 60' long. It is one of the inside loop sites.

It
also had a great tree where the orioles at my bird feeder kept me
amused watching them eat and flit about. But I picked this site
because it looked like the only one where satellite reception would
be remotely possible. It offered plenty enough room in my back yard
to be able to position the tripod so that it could point through
the one hole in the heavy tree coverage here. This was really the
first time I could truly see the benefits of the tripod over the
roof mounted units. And I really like my new tripod - it is so much
simpler and lighter than the first one I had. I was impressed that
my installer, Roger at Global
Sat Solutions, provided me with this new setup after I told
him what problems I was having with the original one.
I
usually get TV reception by my roof mounted satellite unit. After
4 years, I've gotten pretty good at getting a signal on that, but
no way I could have gotten the signal here - it pointed directly
into a tree. So for the first time, I used the setup option he rigged
for me so that I could get TV via the internet satellite if I needed
to. So it was the best of both worlds - lots of trees with singing
birds, and still able to keep in touch with the outside world.

Malia's
2 cents: It
rained 2 out of the 3 days here, but I could still see how beautiful
the park is. We took advantage of the one sunny day we had to
walk along the lakeside trail to the marina where we dined overlooking
the water as we watched the iridescent swallows. |
