Following
is simply my opinion and impression of the following parks I checked
out while in the area. Their names below are links to their websites,
if they have one.
They
are listed in order as you are driving north on I-5. All below listed
their nightly rate in May, 2005 as $25/night for full hookups, but
check before arrival.

This
is a cute little park I visited when my Jacksonville friend,
Susan, moved there. It fronts the Rogue River, a definite attraction.
I met the manager, who was very nice and obviously cared about
the park, which is owned by her daughter and husband. |
|
|
I'm
standing on the nice deck they have built at the river's edge
- a good place to feed the ducks and watch the birds. The park
has a total of 25 sites, 18 with full hookups. The manager said
about 75% were occupied by long term residents at this time. |

This
is a small park consisting of 21 spaces. It was mostly full
when I dropped by and the manager told me most were long-term
residents. These two sites and five other directly front the
Roque River. |
|
|
These
grassy sites, 13 & 14, have no sewer and are used for overnighters
or weekenders. He said the motor homes like it because you can
just drive up and watch the river flow. |

All
things considered with the daily rates being equal, this looked
like the nicest overall riverfront park to me, with 700' of
Roque River frontage. It has 47 spaces, all with full hookups
and cable TV. |
|
|
My
only concern was that it was so nicely shaded that I wouldn't
be able to get a satellite signal. I didn't see any other satellites
out when I drove through. The manager says it depends on the
site and how much the trees are blossomed out. |

I
chose Moon Mountain RV Park as my home in Grants Pass due to
its convenient location and reasonable monthly rate ($285 +
elec.) I like how the sites are terraced - and the views of
the mountains aren't bad either! |
|
|
My
site #21 - the only metered monthly site when I arrived. Once
the slides are out, it is a bit tight on the sides - it's hard
to get to my storage bins on the left and I have to watch my
step around the bedroom slide on the right. Most sites are wider
than this. |
