Lakota
and her mate, Czar, were rescued from being held as illegal captives
in a breeding facility. Wherever large numbers of humans settle
the wolves are eliminated. Wolves are an endangered species everywhere
except Alaska.

Tundra
and Spirit are two other resident gray wolves who are so docile
they are allowed to participate in traveling educational programs.
Tundra was rescued from an animal shelter in Washington, who thought
he was a dog. He got along quite well with my niece, Heather.

Foxy Wynonna
began her life in captivity as a member of a petting zoo. An "older
lady" of 13 years (quite advanced for a red fox) she now enjoys
the quiet of her new home and friends who feed and care for her.

Boogie
the Badger pleads: "Hey, let me out and I'll show you we badgers
get a bad rap - I'm really not such a nasty sort." But I wouldn't
want to tangle with her long claws (see them hanging through the
fence). Boogie's mom died in an MVA and was named for her love of
dancing to the beat, bobbing her head in perfect time.
