It always
took me about 45 minutes to get to Yosemite Village from the Big
Oak Flat entrance. No matter how many times I drove it, the breathtaking
beauty made me stop at pulloffs I'd seen before because each time
it looked different.

Fall
was an especially gorgeous time with the multi-colored leaves blowing
across the road.

This
was my favorite pulloff - about 17 miles from entrance. After a
curve you start seeing the river on the right, then start looking
for the places to park on the right side of the road.

This
is a view of Bridal Veil Falls. It was a bit disappointing that
its flow was greatly diminished and Yosemite Falls was dry, but
that only gives me reason enough to return in a different season.

The
payoff was seeing the changing leaves on the row of trees leading
up to El Capitan.

He really is
the reigning king of Yosemite and seeing him framed by a golden
crown of leaves was special indeed.
